The GE IS220PAICH1A is a Simplex Analog I/O Pack for the GE Mark VIe control system. This module is a critical component for handling the exchange of analog signals between the control system and various external devices in industrial applications, particularly in gas turbine control.

Key Features and Functionality

The IS220PAICH1A serves as the electrical interface between the I/O Ethernet network and an analog input terminal board. It is built with a processor board and a dedicated acquisition board for analog functions, ensuring reliable and accurate data acquisition.

• Analog I/O Channels: The pack supports 10 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs. The first eight inputs are configurable for either 5V or 10V inputs, or a 0-20 mA current loop. The last two inputs are for 1 mA or 0-20 mA current inputs. The two outputs are 0-20 mA current loops.
• Connectivity and Redundancy: It features dual RJ-45 Ethernet ports, which automatically negotiate speed and duplex settings. This design allows for redundant network paths, meaning a failure in one network does not affect the I/O pack’s operation.
• Compressor Stall Detection: A notable feature is the inclusion of a compressor stall detection algorithm within the PAIC firmware. It uses the first four analog inputs, scanned at a high rate of 200 Hz, to detect potential stalls in gas turbines and can initiate a trip signal to the controller.
• System Integration: The I/O pack connects directly to a compatible terminal board via a DC-37 pin connector. This allows it to work with boards like the IS200STAIH1A, IS200STAIH2A, and IS200TBAIH1C.
• Certifications: The module is approved for use in both hazardous and non-hazardous locations, holding certifications such as Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D, and ATEX Zone 2.
